Congrats to varsity football players and coaches on an outstanding season, finishing 4-0 in District games and 6-2 overall finishing as the Region 2B Runner Up. Football players, please keep in touch with Coach Lamb for information regarding the weight room opening up the week of May 3rd.
Cross Country
Congrats to the girls XC team for winning the Region 2B Championship last week. They will be participating in the VHSL Class 2 State Championship meet this Thursday at 1 pm at Green Hill Park in Salem. Ticket information will be through GoFan only and will be shared once it is received from the VHSL. Tickets will be $10 for the state meet. The cross country team will depart on Thursday morning at 8 AM.
Golf
Good luck to Tinleigh Rusher this week as she will be competing in the Region 4b VHSL Girls Open golf qualifier at Bowling Green CC on Wednesday at Noon.
Spring Sports Updates
- The SHS Tennis teams will begin play this week at Clarke County on Wednesday at 4:30 pm and then the girls will also play at Stonewall Jackson on Thursday at 4:30 pm. Good luck as they compete in the first ever matches for SHS. The girls tennis team will hold a parent meeting on Tuesday at 5 pm right after practice. Information on the boys parent meeting will be shared once it is received.
- A decision on JV Boys/Girls Soccer teams will be made after Tuesday's practices. We are using Tuesday as the last possible date to add athletes for the JV teams in soccer before the Bull Run District is finalizing teams and schedules. There are many schools that may not be able to field various teams for the spring in baseball, softball, and soccer including both JV/V teams.
- The boys soccer parent meeting will be held on Monday after practice at 5:45 pm at SKMS and the girls soccer parent meeting will be held on Wednesday after practice at 7:00 pm.
- Information regarding Spring Sports Mitigation will be shared with parents through e-mail and/or during parent meetings as we get all of the information put together. Attendance at all spring events will be based on 500 spectators; therefore, the Bull Run District plans to do ticket sales as normal during those spring events. Tickets will be sold at the gate for spring events.

A reminder that all JV and Varsity sports will end after school is out. Students that are participating in JV/V sports are reminded they are expected to be at all SHS athletic practices and games until the end of the season. All JV seasons will be completed by Friday, June 11th and Varsity seasons will only extend beyond that date if our teams are in the Top 4 of the Region in the ranking system. Region playoffs in Baseball, Softball and Soccer will be June 15th and 17th, with the State Playoffs the next week.
Varsity Track & Field will compete in the Region meet on June 9th and then any athlete qualifying for the State Championships will compete June 18/19.
The Tennis postseason will begin b/t May 20-28 and Regional advancement will be determined during that week. The State Tournament window for tennis is June 7-13
